BOMSA

BOMSA has been working with internal and external women migrants since 1998 to ensure the protection of women migrant’s rights. It has been formed by some returnee women migrants, when they felt to be organized to do self-help & needed a platform to raise their issues. It was a subscription-based organization, but it could hardly do all the needful for the women migrant’s needs. Later it had got its registration from NGO affairs Bureau in 2004 and started to get donations. BOMSA formed 16 CBOs and 4 GMC in eight districts to shape the lives of many women. It has experience to work in eleven districts, who battle against the odds in foreign lands by offering both pre- departure training, pre decision session, counseling, hotline service, case management, technical support and provide different kinds of trainings.  BOMSA regularly provides counseling, legal and mediation support to migration fraudulent cases and victims through BMET, expatriate ministry, DEMO and agencies. BOMSA has a strong network with different national, regional & international networks and platforms such as BCSM, LMWG of ILO, National migration Forum of expatriate ministry, MFA. BOMSA is also a regular member of different international forum and platforms: GAATW, WFA, CARAMASIA, Tenaganita, UN Women, IOM, ILO, GCM.  Moreover, BOMSA regularly participated in GFMD and PGA to uplift the rights of female migrant workers.

BOMSA is working for: Safe & regular migration, Migration Grievance Management, Pre-decision and Pre-departure orientation, Legal support and rescue of women from abroad, Repatriation and Reintegration, Awareness and publicity, Capacity building, Lobby and Advocacy, Legislative Advocacy, Labor trafficking, Women empowerment, VAWG , DV, GBV & SH.

Working areas are Dhaka, Jessore, Noarail, Norshindi, Gazipur, Manikgong, Kishoreganj, Faridpur.
