BRAC established in1972. BRAC focuses on Social Development, Humanitarian Response, and Social Enterprises. BRAC also has Investments and a University.

Under Social Development, BRAC has 15 programmes and they are Ultra-poor Graduation, Integrated Development, Microfinance, Skills Development, Migration, Climate Change, Humanitarian Response, Education, Urban Development, Health Nutrtion & Population, Water Sanitation & Hygienem, Communicable Diseases, Gender Justice and Diversity, Community Empowerment, and Human Rights and Legal Aid Services.

Migration is one of the 15 focuses of BRAC. Established in 2006, this programme works on the following 3 main issues:

  • Safe, Orderly and Regular Migration
  • Combating Human Trafficking
  • Emergency Support and Sustainable Reintegration

BRAC works all over Bangladesh. It has more than 3,000 offices and Internationally, BRAC 14 other countries. Migration Programme operates in 15 districts of Bangladesh through which it covers all 64 districts. The working areas of Migration are: Dhaka, Chattogram, Noakhali, Cumilla, Chadpur, Munshiganj, Shariatpur, Faridpur, Jashore, Khulna, Sirajganj, Tangail, Narshindi, Kishorganj, and Sylhet.

BRAC has extensive number of achievements in many areas.

Following are the few important achievements of Migration Porgramme:

COVID-19 Response for Returnee Migrants:

  • 5, 28,577 people reached with COVID-19 prevention and protection information through social media, television, Radio, mobile and communication material dissemination to aware people about COVID-19 and social distancing.
  • 5,826 Returnee migrants received emergency cash assistance through bKash
  • 3,171 returnee migrants received tele-counseling services through mobile phones
