YPSA (Young Power in Social Action)
YPSA (Young Power in Social Action), is a voluntary non-profit and organization for sustainable development which contributing in national goals for making a difference in the lives of population since its establishment in 1985, in International Youth Year. YPSA envisions a society without poverty where everyone’s basic needs and rights are ensured. YPSA, a fleet of professional staff and volunteer’s specialization in the five thematic areas like Health, Education, Human Rights and Governance, Economic Empowerment, Environment, Climate Change and Disaster Management.
YPSA starts on working with the rights of migrants from 2006. The strategies are awareness, reintegration and governance. YPSA has a shelter home for trafficked survivors. YPSA assistance to consolidate the population affected by human trafficking. Ensure opportunities for various technical trainings from government, private or privately owned institutions. Collaborate on job placement through liaison with various employer organizations and life skills education activities. YPSA has been working on labour migration governance from 2017 with the support of PROKAS, British Council. The project aims to improve the transparency and accountability of the migration process
It’s working areas are Chattogram and Cox’s Bazar (Chattogram Division). Direct beneficiary is 5000 and indirect beneficiary is 20000
Major Achievements are- six Grievance Management Committee (GMC) has been formed at the local level to ensure safe migration in the work area. YPSA developed 254 youth change makers in locally who are working for safe migration. YPSA GMC settled about 60 complaints and recovered about 31 Lakh taka. YPSA established Fair Migration Support Center at union level. About 4,000 men and women have taken information and advice on safe migration from this center. YPSA has stared online complain receiving system to make their complaints easier and faster. YPSA has community radio (Radio Sagor Giri FM 99.2) program which is most popular in marginalized level.
